How To Add Meta Tags in Blogger Blog For SEO

Firstly, you may want to ask what a meta tag is?..

Meta tags are HTML codes that are inserted into the header on a web page, after the title tag. In the context of search engine optimization, when people refer to meta tags, they are usually referring to the meta description tag and the meta keywords tag.







The meta description tag and the meta keywords tag are not seen by users. Instead, these tags main purpose is providing meta document data to user agents, such as search engines. In addition to the well-known meta description and meta keywords tags, there are other useful meta tags, including the meta http-equiv tag, meta refresh tag, the meta robots tag, the meta copyright tag, and the meta author tag, etc. These tags are used to give web browsers and search engine spiders directions or data on various information. 

In Adding a meta tag to your blog, You have to add two meta tags to the head section of your blogger template. One is the Meta description which describes your site and another one is Meta Keywords which tells about your site keywords(what your site or blog is all about is all about).

Below are the steps to follow when adding a meta tag to blogger(blogspot) blogs, websites.



1. Sign in to your blogger dashboard >Select the 'Design' link and click on 'Edit html' tab

2. Click to Expand Widget Template

3. Press CTL+F and look for this in the template:

If you cant find the above screen shot in your template, simply do this.

DESCRIPTION HERE:>>Your blog description
KEYWORDS:>>Keywords of your blog
AUTHOR NAME:>>Author's name(Your name)

7. You can now Save your template.

NOTE>>>>>

Never fill the meta description with keywords. DON'T DO THAT. Google and other search engines might ban your site from the search engines list if you repeat your keywords too often. You can only repeat your Keywords not more than 3 times.

To check if your meta tag has been successfully added search 'meta tags analyzer tool' in the google and you will find so many sites which can check whether you have added the tags correctly or not.
